This is as bleak as it gets. Where Dr. Strangelove hits hard through absurd and incisive existential satire, this recording is soulless dread and crushing psychopathic delirium. They both depict the achievement of a total hell, but I'd rather be riding the bomb or down in a mine with Merkin Muffley than anywhere remotely near Oceania.
This is a fantastic script with compelling acting, and it delivers the gut punches with brutal severity.
