I have to tell this somewhere, so here it goes.

A man came into the hospital lobby (not ER) today and claimed he was Adam Walsh, the missing child who was abducted from the Sears toy department in Hollywood, FL in 1981. The staff he approached were paramedics, so their ears perked immediately, and they began to ask him more questions. He had an ID, not with the name (obviously he wouldn't have an ID with Adam Walsh on it), but it did have the exact birthday as Adam. This part is incredibly interesting to me. He also gave his Social Security card to the paramedics, and when the staff ran it, it came back as fraudulent. Local police showed up and took him for an evaluation and DNA testing.

Honestly, it's all so bizarre, and I've been doing my best to keep up with local news to see if anything leaks, and so far, nothing has. I imagine that if this is Adam Walsh, it would be hush-hush until 100% confirmed. If it's legit, holy shit, that would be groundbreaking. A psych unit was on site at the hospital, and they didn't take the man there, so that leads me to think that the man claiming he was Adam Walsh was behaving coherently enough for the paramedics to take him seriously.

However, it could indeed be someone in psychosis, but I like to go with wild theories, and it would be crazy if he is, in fact, alive and has been all this time. Like, what if his abductor took him in, changed his name, and lied to him over the years about his identity? After all, Adam was 6 when he was abducted, and it is not so hard to manipulate children, especially when it's persistent and over many, many years. There are similar stories out there where children's identities have been changed by their captors and they don't learn about who they are until years later.

To add further context, if you haven't dug into the case, there were many mishandlings of evidence. "Adam's" head was found, but never a body. There are concerns that the severed head found 100 miles away from the site of the abduction is not Adam because he had two missing front teeth when he was taken, and the head had one. That's just one example I can give off the top of my head. Additionally, a serial killer who confessed to the murder eventually recanted his confession.

I hope y'all enjoy this, I know it's pretty crazy! I am badly wanting to know what's going on at that police station, lol.
