Id like to think a lot of people care but the amount of people i know in person who think generative ai of themselves or people they know is funny is crazy. They think its just a silly little fun thing to play with and dont understand the very real ramifications of it. People are literally training these models daily, even someone like myself who is anti ai is training these models by even just using google or posting on reddit, sending an email etc. All our data is being used as training data and its like they shrug their shoulders and dont fucking care. My coworkers will show me ai generated videos and pictures of themselves they post on facebook and laugh about. They look at you crazy if you even suggest generative ai of anyones likeness in any scenario is extremely dangerous. You show them very real examples like this where its being used as political propaganda and they still dont care and continue with laughing at ai videos of boss babies
