Americans complain that the world is making deals with strongmen because they elected a strongman. But, Americans fail to recognize there are different types of strongman. There are “professional” dictators whose oppression is limited to domestic politics and relatively fit well into international diplomacy. But, there are “amateur” dictators whose aggression doesn’t discriminate and not restrained by national borders. Trump is later type and that kind of leaders lead the country into a pariah status.
