According to the New York Times, Argentina is in advanced talks to become the destination for US deportations.
This comes as Argentina’s president Javier Milei received a $20 billion swap line to keep the peso stable during the mid-term elections only a few months ago. Argentina has also accepted to join Trump’s “Board of Peace”.
This, ironically, happens at the same time Milei and his “troll army” have been ramping up anti-immigration rethoric on social media. This is despite Argentina historically being a country very welcoming of immigrants.

I am shocked that the self-described Libertarian is actually a fascist, truly shocked I tell you! Milei is the special kind of stupid fascist where his austerity measures are actively undermining his capacity to carry out the anti-immigration policies that he’s espousing.
Hopefully this kills the weird relationship this sub has with Milei for good, but I doubt that. I remember people still praising him after he had been tapdancing on the metaphorical graves of millions with post-DOGE Elon Musk.
