The entire RCAF has been practically begging for F-35s for multiple years now because the Gripen is an obviously worse plane in essentially every measurable aspect. This entire circus that revolves around non-existent, politically manufactured concerns and the desire to stick it to the Yanks is so ridiculous. A deeply unserious country that is only exacerbating its military ineptitude and dependence on America due to nothing but its inferiority complex and petty, histrionic spite, all while the demented orange grandpa on the other side of the issue is acting like a complete idiot and turning the objectively correct decision into an untenability just because he can’t keep his damn mouth shut. What a fucking embarrassment.
