European security officials believe Russia has intercepted communications from several key satellites, The Financial Times reports. There is now a risk that the Russians could obtain sensitive information, alter the satellites’ trajectories, or even crash them. The satellites are believed to be at least a dozen. According to the British newspaper, the activities of the two Russian spacecraft, Luch-1 and Luch-2, are of particular concern to European intelligence agencies. Both craft have been coming increasingly close to European satellites in recent years. Luch-2, for example, is said to have approached such a satellite seventeen times, sometimes remaining there for weeks.
