She’s a former NIMBY turned YIMBY. Supports SB79 and reforming ULA. I don’t agree with all her policies but I respect that she admits when she’s wrong and is willing to update her views based on new information.

Has [been censured by DSA in early 2024](https://forward.com/news/578358/nithya-raman-dsa-censure-dfi-endorsement/) like AOC for Israel-Palestine stuff (even though she’s probably more pro-Palestine than like 75-80% of Dems in Congress and many local Arab Americans defended her as an ally). Married to a guy who wrote for Modern Family situational comedy.
But I think a big reason why she’s running is that [LA Times report which was recently released](https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2026-02-04/bass-directed-watering-down-of-palisades-fire-after-action-report-sources-say); it makes Bass look terrible though Bass disputes the veracity of it
