Defenders of the immigration crackdown claim to be demanding compliance with the law. But in enforcing said laws, the government is ignoring court orders, suppressing constitutionally protected activity, and escalating force in public spaces. That’s an erosion of the rule of law, not “law and order.”
Note: This link is relevant to this sub because it relates to public policy, specifically on immigration, and explains how a broken legal migration system and constitutionally unbounded enforcement undermine both the rule of law and the market-oriented, institutional solutions neoliberals typically favor.

“What do you mean executing a protestor under broad daylight is against the US Constitution?”
-My MAGA father, literally
It’s always like that with law & order people. They also don’t care about police breaking the law.
It’s hard to pin down the underlying ethos at all. I’m beginning to think these people are just pro state violence. I am not saying that to antagonize them, I think that actually might be the underlying belief.
