political violence bad, also the far-right is already using his death to argue for ban against “Antifa”
>What should we discuss
the weimarisation of France seemingly?
>What do I think?
I blame the far-left but violence bad
I find funny that the whole thing came to be because the far-right has a hate boner for Rima Hassan. I also find funny that the main Antifa band in Lyon has a Bonapartist name
I find less funny that according to rumors/twitter, one of the leftist attacker was a staff member of a LFI MP

>Quentin D., the 23-year-old indentitarian activist who was attacked on Thursday evening on the sidelines of a conference by MEP Rima Hassan (La France Insoumise, LFI) at the Institute of Political Studies (IEP) in Lyon, has died, the public prosecutor’s office announced on Saturday, February 14.
>**Seriously injured, the young man had been hospitalized and placed in a coma. He did not survive a concussion, the result of violent blows to the head, a security source told Le Monde.**
>The public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation into aggravated assault. The perpetrator(s) of the attack have not yet been identified. “The investigation is ongoing and is now being conducted on the grounds of aggravated assault resulting in death, in addition to aggravated assault under three circumstances,” the public prosecutor’s office said in a statement on Saturday.
>According to the identity group Némésis—which claims to be feminist and continues to wrongly blame immigrants for sexual violence—**Quentin D. was part of the security team responsible for helping its activists during their demonstration in the Sciences Po neighborhood (7th arrondissement) against a conference by Rima Hassan**.
>The far-right group claimed in several messages on X that Quentin D. had been attacked by far-left activists. **The Nemesis group named members of the Jeune Garde, an anti-fascist group dissolved in June 2025 and founded by Raphaël Arnault from Lyon, who was elected deputy in 2024 in Vaucluse under the LFI banner**.
>This tragedy sparked numerous political reactions, particularly among the far right.
