    >UK and Canadian nationals will be able to travel to mainland China for up to 30 days without a visa from 17 February…for tourism, business or visits to family and friends, with the policy set to stay in effect initially until 31 December.

    Submission statement:

This is a milestone in the warming of relations between China and Western countries amidst the backdrop of trade wars and geopolitical threats from the US, and America’s tourism reduction strategies.

The concession didn’t come for free however, for Canada it was the result of a larger trade deal which allows Chinese EVs access to the Canadian market, and for the UK it comes after Starmer’s visit and the approval of a massive new embassy in central London.
