**Submission Statement:** Due to intense pressure by the US last year, India has drastically reduced its purchases of Russian oil & is now buying more from Saudi Arabia. Early last year, India was purchasing over 2 million BPD from Russia but now that number has dropped to 1.2 million, the lowest since 2022. That number is projected to fall even more over the next few months due to agreements with the Trump Administration, sanctions from the West, alternative supplies from Saudi Arabia, and a maintenance shutdown at a major refinery. This is expected to put extreme pressure on Russia’s ability to keep its economy afloat and sustain its war effort.
