The Guardian reports rising tensions between Ukraine and two EU neighbours over energy supplies. Kyiv condemned what it called “blackmail” by Hungary and Slovakia after both threatened to halt electricity exports unless Russian oil transit resumes. The dispute follows damage to pipeline infrastructure in western Ukraine, which Budapest and Bratislava blame on Kyiv despite Ukrainian claims of a Russian drone strike. Slovak prime minister Robert Fico accused Volodymyr Zelenskyy of acting maliciously, deepening divisions within the EU and Nato.
