Yes, I am sure that this was the logic that we used to fight in Vietnam and the Soviets used to fight in Afghanistan. Both of those wars had more going for it than this does. We don’t even have armed resistance on the ground to help push over the hump unlike those two aforementioned wars. We are just gambling on being welcomed as liberators after bombing the place…..
I wouldn’t put it past Pakistan or China to back insurgents left and right to burn us out….

Idk based on Vietnam’s 20th century, there may be some truth to the idea that you can be in a state of war forever (and win).
