Everyone warned Trump and Netanyahu that if Iran was cornered too much they’d start hitting oil and gas facilities in other Middle Eastern countries.
The Israelis did it anyway(because they want to destroy Iran’s economy) and claimed they told the US about it. Then Trump said the US didn’t know about it. And Iran did what they warned they would do and hit a major Qatari facility that Qatar says will take 5 years to repair, reducing gas exports by 17% for that period.
Now Iran has drawn a new line in the sand. Israel won’t care because they’ll happily cut off everyone else’s noses to spite Iran’s face. But do Trump’s cabinet and donors understand what they’re gambling with here?

The fact that blowing up government leadership is okay, blowing up the military is okay, but *holy shit don’t touch the oil that’s a bridge too far* says something sad about the world’s addiction to oil.
