Cuba is “preparing” for a possible invasion by the U.S. military but insists its government does not want to worsen its relationship with the United States and Donald Trump, the Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister asserted in an interview broadcast Sunday. “Our army is always ready,” Carlos Fernandez de Cossio told NBC. “In fact, it is preparing these days for the possibility of military aggression. Looking at what is happening in the world, we would be naive not to.” “But we hope it won’t happen. We don’t see why it would happen, how could it be justified?” the minister asked. ” Cuba does not want a conflict with the United States. We have the need and the right to protect ourselves. But we are ready to sit down and talk ,” added Carlos Fernandez de Cossio.
