I was waffling on which AI company to give my money, because I do actually use quite a bit of AI despite my constant hating on it. All these AI companies have almost totally degraded from their first principles (like OpenAI, Google’s AI Team) or never had principles in the first place (X AI).
Seeing Anthropic take a cost to hold up to their ideals made the argument for supporting them easy, for me at least. I hope the American opposition to Trump can avoid being in principle anti-AI and focus on building up the good actors and suppressing the bad.
