Two Texas women are scheduled for arraignment in U.S. District Court this week in connection with an alleged scheme to smuggle migrants in a vehicle carrying children and lots of trash.

Prosecutors are accusing Americans Gabriela Blanco Zavala and Michelle Corine Zavala of using a purported family trip to the dentist in Juarez, Mexico, as cover to bring back two Mexican nationals concealed in the back of their SUV.

The officer opened the rear cargo door and was drawn to two large trash bags. Two adult males were inside the bags, records show. Additional CBP officers continued to search the vehicle in a secondary inspection area and reported finding $14,235 in cash under the front driver’s seat.
