NYT reports the US is actively negotiating expanded military access in Greenland with Denmark, signalling enduring strategic interest in the Arctic. Pentagon officials say the move reflects rising security threats and Greenland’s growing geopolitical importance. Plans reportedly include access to former American bases at Narsarsuaq and Kangerlussuaq. The effort revives tensions after Donald Trump previously floated acquiring the island. Danish officials appear cooperative, citing a 1951 defence pact granting broad U.S. access. Some Greenlanders, however, express unease about a larger American military presence.

I think the US can forget about that when withdrawing from NATO.
That’s a little crazy considering the increasing resources being sent to the Middle East and Trump promising to withdraw unless he plans to withdraw and declare war on NATO to get Greenland

I think this is the secret agreement that Mark Rutte talked to Trump about. If you noticed, Trump dropped all threats In regards to Greenland after speaking with Rutte.

The Greenlandic and Danish argument has always been that the US is welcome to expand its presence in Greenland. What’s not up for debate is the sovereignty of Greenland and the territory any bases would be on.
Anyway, don’t expect any big news on this for a while given Danish government formations are taking place. Any decision would have to wait until they are finished. I honestly doubt negotiations can really continue under the formations, unless the government has received some sort of a mandate for it. Last meeting was seemingly on the 20th of March.
