If they don’t want ICE in the streets trying to find aliens then they need to encourage state and local prisons and jails to cooperate with ICE. Have ICE take people into custody in a controlled environment, where no one has weapons, where there are tons of cameras, and where state and local authorities actually have some legal basis for stepping in if they see something amiss.
Fund ICE so they can maintain funding for their facilities and ensure that detainees have access to quality food, legal.represemtation, and medical care. Stop sending goons to surround ICE facilities and block vendors from showing up to drop off food and medical supplies.
