There’s actually people in these threads furious that America rescued its downed pilot and WSO lmao
Like some guy was mad in the last one that Special Forces engaged and killed IRGC and Basij while extracting
In the midst of us agreeing this war is dumb, some people have become so leftist brained they’re simping for the evil Iranian regime. The one dude was basically begging to see American soldiers killed so people on the internet could celebrate. Disgusting.
Sorry – will never be sorry to see dead terrorists.

I’m not religious, but thank God they found the other crewmember alive and before capture
A hostage situation in this climate would be terrifying

I’m glad Iran did not get a hostage

I do think the US wouldn’t be so bold to pursue wars of aggression if their military was worse

The Iranian rocket forces are locked tf in, clearing out bombed tunnels, hiding equipment and making sure they keep the rockets and drones coming.
Meanwhile, the IRGC ground forces decided that fighting trained soldiers with guns and not unarmed college kids actually sounds kinda scary and did the world’s most half-hearted capture attempt known to man.

If the American public could stomach the type of casualties the Russians face in a month, the US military could successfully invade half the fucking world.

I’m incredibly relieved that the Iranians didn’t get a hostage and also didn’t get a dead body to parade around.
Both would have invited a lot more escalation than we currently have – which is saying something.
Also it goes without saying that I’m happy that a service member made it home ok.

I feel maddened by the fact that shit happens everyday and we just still exist like normal.
If George W. Bush just went “we have no fucking goals, maybe we did make regime change when we really didn’t, and I’m just gonna bomb the people until the leaders stop being fine with it”, the fucking Iraq War protests maybe would’ve increased.
But this shit happens and the protests aren’t even the size of the Iraq War ones. I’m not meaning “No Kings” because that shit is broader and was happening pre-Iran War. (Good as it is.)
All of the anti-Israel protests under Biden and those people are probably sitting on their hands right now while Trump bombs innocent Iranians.

It turns out that the most unrealistic part of Top Gun Maverick was that they would just leave him to die. Guess they really hated him.

How do you lose multiple planes without casualties? Unless there were casualties?

Man we really take “no man left behind” pretty damn seriously do we? Do any other major militaries have a policy like this?
