Without the Islamic Republic being overthrown, this is just kicking the can down the road and the Iranians will *really* be out for blood in the coming years.
Also this only proves to them that they need a nuclear weapon to defend themselves.
We need to blow up all the oil facilities and let them live in the dark. No oil means no money which means no army. We wanted the people to rise up, no power and a deserting army will get them to do that. Once the old regime is out, we move in and help rebuild the oil facilities with a friendlier government in charge.
