I'm really torn on how I feel about this.

What I definitely feel as an American, is absolute disgust with the US Government. To level I didn't think possible.

certainly a bold strategy.  I dont think it can work anyway.  just wait and the moment they go home or most of them, drop.

  2. Kinda funny …..using human shields is considered a war crime too. Pesky Geneva convention always getting in the way

  3. This is called “human shielding” or just “shielding” and it’s evil. It’s meant to dissuade attacking countries from striking, or, if they do, show the world how evil the attacking country is for “killing innocents” – yet the host country are the ones putting them in the way of war.

This is nothing new, and again it’s evil.

1914 (World War I): German forces used Belgian civilians as human shields during advances in Belgium (part of the Rape of Belgium incidents).

    • 1936 (British Mandate Palestine): British forces forced Palestinian mayor Suleiman Abdul Razzaq Tuqan to sit exposed on a rooftop in Nablus as a “high-value human shield” against rebel attacks.

    • 1940 (World War II): German Wehrmacht used Belgian civilians as shields to cross a bridge during the Vinkt Massacre (at least 86 civilians killed).

    • 1944 (World War II): Nazi forces forced civilian women onto armored vehicles as shields during the Wola massacre in Poland. Japanese forces used civilians as shields in battles like Okinawa and Manila.

    • 1990–1991 (Gulf War): Iraq under Saddam Hussein placed foreign hostages and civilians near strategic sites (dams, refineries, palaces) to deter coalition attacks; also threatened to use POWs as shields.

    • 1995 (Bosnian War): Serbian forces chained UN peacekeepers to military targets around Sarajevo to deter NATO airstrikes.

    • 1999 (Kosovo War / NATO bombing): Serbian civilians voluntarily positioned themselves on Belgrade bridges to shield them from NATO airstrikes.

    • 2002–2005 (Second Intifada / Israeli-Palestinian conflict): Allegations of Palestinian militants using civilians/children as shields; also Israeli forces accused of using Palestinians as “neighbor procedure” shields during operations like Defensive Shield.

    • 2003 (Iraq War / Operation Iraqi Freedom): Iraqi forces (including Fedayeen) allegedly hid among or forcibly used civilians to shield positions; voluntary foreign activists also positioned at sites.

    • 2006 (Lebanon War): Allegations of Hezbollah using civilians and civilian areas as shields against Israeli forces.

    • 2008–2009 (Gaza War / Operation Cast Lead): Accusations against both sides—Hamas embedding in civilian areas; Israeli forces using Palestinians as shields (e.g., to check buildings).

    • 2009 (Sri Lankan Civil War, final phase): Tamil civilians trapped in “no-fire zones” allegedly used as shields by LTTE against Sri Lankan forces (tens of thousands affected).

    • 2014 (Gaza War / Operation Protective Edge): Allegations of Hamas using civilian infrastructure and populations as shields; Israeli forces again accused of using Palestinians as shields.

    • 2016–2017 (Battle of Mosul, Iraq vs. ISIS): ISIS reportedly relocated and used thousands of civilians as human shields to deter coalition and Iraqi advances.

    • 2023–2025 (Ongoing Israel-Hamas War in Gaza): Widespread accusations of Hamas embedding military operations in civilian areas/hospitals/schools to deter strikes; reciprocal allegations of Israeli forces systematically using Palestinian civilians (including for tunnel searches or as “Mosquito Protocol”).

Well they will either do it anyway, do it earlier , or do it later, or not do it. Those are my best guesses.
