  1. I know Trump’s word isn’t worth much but this seems newsworthy, it’s being reported by the NY Times and there seem to be some indications from the Pakistan side that this might be real. Edit: I would consider this confirmed now based on Iran’s statements.

From a well regarded reporter at the NY Times:

    > Iran accepted Pakistan’s two-week cease-fire proposal following frantic diplomatic efforts by Pakistan and last-minute intervention by China, a key ally, asking Iran to show flexibility and defuse tensions, and amid growing concerns about the economic devastation from damages to critical infrastructure, according to three Iranian officials. They said the cease-fire was approved by the new supreme leader, Ayatollah Mojtaba Khamenei.

    Also:

    > Iran’s foreign minister, Abbas Araghchi, said in a statement that the Iranians would “cease their defensive operation,” and that “for a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible” if coordinated with Iran’s military.

This is probably the best possible outcome. Iran wins, trump can save face, by claiming he already achieved their objectives.

Meanwhile the gulf states are looking at their bombed infrastructure wonder what all those bribes they paid to trump actually got them.

Wow just pathetic to see his submission lol. What happened to strongman Trump that everyone respected?

    1. The U.S. must fundamentally commit to guaranteeing non-aggression.
    2. Continuation of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz.
    3. Acceptance that Iran can enrich uranium for its nuclear program
    4. Removal of all primary sanctions on Iran.
    5. Removal of all secondary sanctions against foreign entities that do business with Iranian institutions).
    6. End of all United Security Council resolutions targeting Iran.
    7. End of all International Atomic Energy Agency resolutions on Iran’s nuclear program.
    8. Compensation payment to Iran for war damage.
    9. Withdrawal of U.S. combat forces from the region.
    10. Cease-fire on all fronts, including Israel’s conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon.

  4. There is quite a bit if discussion in the daily thread about whether Trump has actually agree to Iran’s ten point plan.

    From his tweet:
    >
    > “The reason for doing so is that we have already met and exceeded all Military objectives, and are very far along with a definitive Agreement concerning Longterm PEACE with Iran, and PEACE in the Middle East,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “We received a 10 point proposal from Iran, and believe it is a workable basis on which to negotiate.”

I am personally of the opinion that there is zero chance he’s actually agreed to that and people are blowing it out of proportion.

The ten point plan, for reference:

    >
    > Nour News, an Iranian publication backed by Iran’s Supreme National Supreme Council, published this list:
    >
    > 1. The U.S. must fundamentally commit to guaranteeing non-aggression.
    >
    >
    >
    >
    >
    >
    >
    >
    >
    > 10. Cease-fire on all fronts, including Israel’s conflict with Hezbollah in Lebanon

I think something resembling the status quo is likely, possibly with a deteriorated security situation in the strait when independent IRGC commanders decide to take a potshot here and there. #nothingeverhappens

This really does look like a victory by the Iranian regime if the war has concluded.

What a nightmare. 2000 Iranian civilians for perhaps even a more extreme Iranian regime
