Submission Statement: Most Redditors have overlooked the UAE's quiet shift in strategy aiming to become a major power within the next decade. Interestingly, much of this is based on the UAE's quasi-neoliberal approach around promoting transcontinental infrastructure and capital corridors paired with hard power and neocolonial ambitions. The Emirati approach to Africa is the most visible example of this.
