
Trump makes statement on his dumb social media site pledging to allow cattle farmers to process their own animals. Existing regulations typically mean that farmers (practically) must use major beef processing facilities.
Seems to allude to alleviating regulations, although there are *actual laws* that require things like USDA inspections, which, as I understand, are the real hurdle here. While USDA inspections aren't perfect, they are probably better than a "no inspection" world.
So yes this is a "dumb shit Trump said post" but it's also about monopoly/industry capture (of beef processors) and regulation, which is pretty interesting.
