Tiffany Aiesha Henyard, the mayor of Dolton, Illinois, has faced allegations of misusing taxpayer money and overspending. Former Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, who investigated Henyard’s handling of village finances, revealed that Dolton is more than $3.5 million in debt. Credit card spending has been out of control, with unaccounted-for expenses, including $40,000 spent on Amazon purchases in a single day. Additionally, two police officers accrued six-figure overtime pay, far exceeding their base salaries
The whole story is just insane. My question is what other towns are in a similar position but not on anyone’s radars.
