I was very interested in Libertarian thought in the early 2000’s but got disillusioned with it not long after that. At that time the place to dig into experimental libertarian thought was on sci-fi novels. L. Neil Smith was an active novelist, activist, and politician. Robert Heinlein played around in it, particularly The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress. Ben Bova’s Grand Tour series had a lot of libertarian ideas (he also predicted drone warfare and OnlyFans among many other ideas). Poul Anderson’s Technic History series featured free-market space merchant scoundrels. Even Atlas Shrugged, when you get past the long-winded political theory, is a sci-fi novel at heart- super-metals, death rays, secret science cities, pirates, etc.
