I read about the Amazon /Flock partnership but wanted to share an anecdotal experience with the Blink camera system also owned by Amazon.
I have used Blink cameras for several years without issue, I didn’t bother with a subscription to their service initially, but was limited in storage space of clips, the subscription model comes with unlimited storage, ok. So get the subscription.
Friday afternoon a notification of an unwatched clip appeared despite all clips being viewed. ok weird but maybe just a hiccup although there has not been anything like this in years past.
Today all cameras are down, all clips are gone ( hundreds of clips going back 60 days from multiple cameras are gone) I cannot even access a live camera feed but funnily enough the one unwatched phantom clip notification remains.
Hop on Reddit, check the Blink sub and find out there have been odd happenings with access and clips. Where similarly people had no issue for years if ever, up to now.
What if the surveillance partnership runs deeper and Amazon is in the process of configuring of a massive overlord system of home security devices which between all their holdings,Ring, Blink, Alexa pretty much is Big brother.
