So, basically, I've seen, like, 3-4 articles talking about people who saw a piece of art that they thought was trash/a chair/some common use item that was fine to touch or whatever. These people end up throwing away/sitting on/doing whatever to the art and then the museum freaks out about it and those people have to pay to fix it.
I think museums get or make this art just so they can pull this scam. Because every time I see the art in question, there's no ropes, protective glass, plaques, nothing to keep it safe or mark it as art. And you can say that people should just not touch anything in a museum out of assumption, but we all know (including the museums) that people don't do that; plus accidents.
All these articles could also be fake and I don't care enough to really look into it, but I've seen enough of them that I think about it a good bit.

Any museum I’ve *ever* been to has some kind of marker for the name of the artist at minimum. Almost no artists want their work on display without their name attached…Banksy and some other art collectives exist which go by one shared moniker but the vaaaast majority visual artists don’t operate that way.
Any time I’ve heard of incidents lole this, people either didn’t see the marker, didn’t real8ze a marker they did see was for the item they damaged, or they were fully aware of the situation but damaged the items being disrespectful fuckheads doing something to the items they shouldn’t have been doing.
Museums don’t just put chairs out as unidentified art pieces and expect people won’t sit in them, for example. That is the dumbest claim. I’m familiar with an example of someone sitting in a chair made of rhinestones or small crystals or something, to take pictures, who broke the chair. In that case the chair was *VERY* clearly not just a regular chair, it also had a name plate. It was even cordoned off to provide safe space apart from where people would be standing/walking in case someone tripped and fell towards the chair they still would have enough room to not land on it.
I think we should take a closer look at the word “mistook”.
It’s almost like you’re getting the point of the art!
I call it bold and brash!
More like belongs to the trash!
A major portion of the art world is just cover for money laundering operations undergirded by gaslighting
“Modern art” appreciation is 90% posers and bullshit and 10% true believer psychos and 100% money laundering.
Asmongold’s bedroom is technically modern art.
She didn’t mistake anything. Those terms are synonymous.
