Religious white Democrats are what Democrats need in rural communities. I think Talarico should be a model for red state Democrats.
Some news org, think it was NYT, had some build a voter thing a while back. If I recall, the demographic characteristic most weighted for voting Dem/Biden was being an atheist.
You could build a theoretically perfect red voting rural otherwise, but as long as they were atheist they were weighted more times Dem/Biden
Absolutely fascinating and thoroughly unsurprising
This is why I get really pissed off whenever someone blames religion for another “lone wolf”, ie Christian Nationalist, mass shooting.
The other one is Economic Anxiety. If religion and Economic Anxiety were the main drive behind mass shootings in the US, then Black and Native Women would be committing mass murder on the daily.
