China has just simulated shutting Taiwan out of Starlink completely, cutting the island off from satellite internet if its undersea cables were ever taken out. The obvious question is why China would run this simulation in the first place. The answer is straightforward. They watched Ukraine survive with its ground infrastructure smashed because Starlink kept the lights on. They do not want Taiwan to have the same advantage.

You could shrug and say it is China being China, but the real tension sits in what the mainstream media is choosing not to shout from the rooftops. This is a preparation drill for invasion. Nothing subtle about it. Yet most outlets are brushing it aside as routine posturing.

Why would the media soften something this blatant? Because stability keeps the markets calm, and calm markets keep the owners happy. Follow the ownership trail and you will see why the reporting always seems to land on whatever angle causes the least disruption.

Are we in a time where we will only ever be given the version of events that the markets are comfortable with?
