When the United States stole the Dakota territory from the Souix, the Souix were devastated, because they had JUST defeated the Cree and stolen the land from them. There is no one left alive that was a part of any of these land thefts, though.

Every bit of land on Earth has been stolen and conquered throughout history back into time immemorial. The colonists took the indigenous land from the tribes living on it who, in turn, took it from other tribes who had been living on it before them. You can see the same pattern in the history of nations in Europe, Asia, Africa and everywhere else where people have lived for an extended period. That’s just what human history looks like. There’s nothing particularly special about it

This is such a non-sense statement. No murdering the current owner should not transfer ownership to you, but that’s just kind of how life works.
