Dig into the actual FOIA drops (especially the 2024 batches) and you see they got exactly what they wanted, just not the hollywood version with perfect zombies. They got better interrogation manuals, crowd control chems that still get used, psyop playbooks running today, and enough data to keep black sites humming. If it was total failure why did they burn 99% of the files in 73 lol

• Project ARTICHOKE (1951-53)
  Objective: hypnosis + drugs to force confessions and build sleeper assassins
  Real outcome: nailed the confession part (mescaline combos made people spill fake stories they believed were real). Became core of KUBARK manual used globally)
  Fact: they got one guy so deep under he planted a bomb and had zero memory after. "Almost worked" my ass

• Project BLUEBIRD (1950-51)
  Objective: hypnotic couriers who dont know theyre carrying secrets

  Real outcome: total flop operationally BUT the bio implant tech evolved into modern drone birds and insect programs

1. Every single proposal had the line "can a subject be made to perform assassination involuntarily" they kept trying till they got close enough
2. They only "failed" on paper so congress bought it and funding tripled under new names
