When failing to control social media, or force a sale to Western hands, the next step is to just block it
Don't you miss the good old days when we all got our news and information from mainstream media like ABC, NBC, CBS, and other good honest journalists with no affiliation to intelligence agencies? Well so do our friends down under, in this Western trial run for other countries. Now all of our young adults ready to go to college in a couple years will only have the sanitized and government approved narratives
Congratulations Australia, you led the way during Covid with your forced quarantine camps and now you really are making incredible Orwellian strides towards a more docile and less informed citizenry. You are not in control of the information your kid (basically an adult now but under your guardianship) gets, the government is!

SS: Australia has banned social media for all people under 16. While 15 year olds in Australia can still do things from learning to fly an aeroplane to possess a firearm, all of those things are less “harmful” than TikTok because we all know the kind of ~~anti-Semi~~ .. I mean “brainrot” that is on those social media sites.
Please tell me you are being sarcastic. The three letter “news” has been the mouthpiece of American propaganda since the TV was invented. So not affiliated. Just a straight up department. Operation Mockingbird??
That being said, I do not argue that this is just the set up for generalized censorship. Soon enough a laundry list of criteria will govern who and what get to speak. However, I do not think that minors should have access to the internet except under controlled circumstances.
Goes without saying that to ban social media for under 16s, all adults will need to provide digital or biometric is to confirm they are over 16.
But it’s just about protecting the kids, honestly…

yep while at the same time they recommend VPNs for privacy and evading geolocation restrictions….these guys
