In reality, Trump really needs to replace Alito or Thomas before 2027. They are both old and it would make a lot of sense to add a young justice while we have a solid majority in the senate.

The USA has never removed a supreme court justice and the last time we were even close was back when Thomas Jefferson was VP. Setting a political precedent when we have a 6-3 majority is pure stupidity.
