It’s the only solution they’ve offered, but just what is *the problem* they are trying to solve? If there’s unemployed able bodied locals then there’s not a labor shortage, if there’s underemployed people with marketable skills then there’s not a skill shortage.
Any alleged *skill shortage* would disappear if they removed subsidies from postsecondary studies *that aren’t marketable skills.*
Inflating all our towns’ populations with unrestricted mass economic migration means all our supply and demand problems get ***worse***, not ***better.*** We end up with ever-so-slightly more supply and vastly more demand to compete for that supply – ***high rent high traffic high pressure everywhere.***
People who have a big league IQ and grew up practicing their rare talent are exceptional cases. They’re not the endless waves EU and Dems are trying to shove down their respective constituents’ throats and then leverage to make old voters powerless once the new voters are numerous enough.

It worked for illegal drug use in Portland. Illegal drug use is down, even though more people are doing hard drugs than ever before.
