Sorry to inform you all but this is literally the only path the democrats ever have barring a seismic realignment of voters. This is literally the definition of a compromise. A compromise is by definition an agreement that leaves everyone unhappy. Just not unhappy enough to rip it up. And that’s the democratic party today. Everyone hates it. But nobody hates it *enough* to leave. And for good reason, in a two party system leaving a major party is always a terrible idea unless you are kicked out or another major party has opened their doors to you. As little power as we have to push for woke abundance constitutional reform natoflairism, we would lose that little power by leaving the party. So does the Total Millenial Socialist Wealth Tax faction risk losing their grip on cabinet nominations if they leave. So we stay together in an unhappy marriage. Forever.
The same thing happened to the Whig Party until *a seismic voter realignment*. The Kansas Act caused a mass exodus of southern anti-jacksonians from the party that destroyed it electorally, the rump coalition of Free Soilers and Abolitionists reconstituted into the Republican Party with northern conservatives quietly accepting their momentary political irrelevancy.
