My opinion is that it should be rescheduled to allow for medical use/research but then federal enforcement against recreational use should actually be a thing again.
Also in my opinion, this whole trend of states thinking that it’s ok to just ignore federal law started when the Obama administration basically gave states permission to ignore federal drug laws when it came to marijuana. Buckling to allow full recreational use feels like an admission that if certain states disregard federal law for long enough, we’ll just give in to what they want. Feels like a slippery slope towards sanctuary states rewriting immigration law. Feels like a slippery slope towards anti-gun states rewriting 2a.
