
It seems that the President hasn't thought this step through, or that he is unaware of the consequences of this decision. I also found it interestin, although I have yet to read the NSS (and if he decelerated on his production of headlines, I would eventually have that), but from what I've heard in the news, he follows the advice of Elbridge Colby et al., or intends to do so, to abandon Europe in favour of focusing on the Eastern Pacific. Assuming he will in the years to come, wouldn't aiding the PRC in obtaining more cutting-edge technology needed in the AI race kneecap said “pivot to Asia”? Perhaps I'm naive to presume a rationale in the President's decision-making, but to me, this seems contradictory.

I suppose, if anything, this will help reduce the trade deficit the US has with China.
Although I’m not exactly clear on how this would work, Nvidia collects revenue on chips exported from Taiwan to China and that counts as part of it? Or are those chips first going to customs in the US to ensure enforcement?
