Submission statement: only 20% of voters strongly approve of the job Trump is doing. This is important for many reasons but one of the biggest being that enthusiasm is a huge determining factor in elections. People that enthusiastic are the ones that donate to campaigns and help fund it. They are also the people that work or often volunteer on both the larger and sometimes smaller campaigns. Less enthusiasm means less resources for a campaign and will impact the midterms. Trump already had the highest negatives of any president but he’s now losing support from him base as well. His favourability polling:
>• 18% in an AP-NORC poll this month. The only lower readings in the survey’s extensive history came in 2017 (15% in December 2017 and 16% in June 2017).
>• 19% in a Reuters-Ipsos poll this month. That’s also a new low this year and down from 29% in January.
>• 22% in a Fox News poll last month. Trump’s previous low in either of his terms was 25%.
>• 21% in a Marquette University Law School poll last month, the lowest of his second term.
