This could be true. I can’t blame Trump for staying neutral, though. Historically, presidents stay neutral in primaries because they don’t want to hurt the victor’s chances in the general in case the person who they didn’t endorse ends up winning. Reagan privately supported Bush but didn’t make it public until after he locked up the nomination in 1988.
I think it could be that Trump privately supports the other guy more than Elise.
