Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian sought to appease protesters by pledging to revise planned tax increases, saying demonstrators have “legitimate demands”. “Maintaining the purchasing power of the people is a priority,” Pezeshkian posted on X. He added that the government will act “with full capacity to resolve the issues and respond responsibly.” Protesters took to the streets in Tehran and other cities on Monday, with footage on social media suggesting clashes broke out between demonstrators and security forces. “We see, hear, and acknowledge the protests, pressures, and crises,” Fatemeh Mohajerani said in a press conference on Tuesday. “When people raise their voices, it means significant pressure is being put on them. We’re aware of the current situation and do not defend it.”

It is kinda morbid. There version of “another check to Israel” is “another check to Hezbollah”. It is a game of attrition and the Islamic Republic is losing.
