Since taking office in December 2023, Argentine President Javier Milei has aggressively pursued pro-Israel policies—visiting Israel in February 2024, tearfully kissing the Western Wall, designating Hamas a terrorist group in July 2024, and vocally backing Israel’s Gaza operations amid global backlash. Milei even received the 2025 Genesis Prize (the “Jewish Nobel Prize”) for his “unwavering support” for Israel during its conflicts. Yet, this alignment with Zionist interests has backfired spectacularly, prioritizing foreign lobbies over domestic recovery: Austerity “shock therapy” and deregulation have sparked massive economic pain, with poverty spiking and the peso collapsing, all while US/IMF bailouts (totaling over $40B in 2025 loans and swaps) prop up his regime without easing hardships for Argentines. As Jackson Hinkle highlights, Milei’s leadership drove poverty over 50% while he converted to Judaism and won the “Jewish Nobel Prize.” Nick Fuentes calls Milei’s election a US-Israel backed coup to boost support for Israel in Latin America—America First means no more funding foreign puppets draining our resources!
• Poverty reached a 20-year high, exceeding 50% by mid-2024 amid social unrest, before dipping to around 38% later in 2025.
• GDP shrank 5.3% in 2024 due to severe recession and fiscal cuts, with stagnant or downward trends in 2025 despite projections of 4-6% rebound.
• 18,000 businesses closed by July 2025, crippling local economies.
• Unemployment rose to 7.6-8% by October 2025 as labor markets weakened.
• $34 billion debt increase to IMF, fueling endless borrowing cycles.
• 35% of the country can’t afford basic food, per poverty metrics.
• Peso fell to record low since 2009, devaluing 95-99% over the past decade.
• Privatized energy sector led to major blackouts in the capital.
• Sent gold reserves to London for “safekeeping” amid currency crisis.
• Received $40 billion+ in US/IMF bailouts (including $20B IMF loan in April 2025, $12B World Bank, $10B IDB, and $20B US currency swap in October 2025), yet reforms continue to harm citizens.

Nah, Argentina is failing because of the right wing economic policies they’ve been pushing. Those policies are designed to make poor people poorer and rich people richer. They’re great for GDP, but terrible for the actual people who live there. It’s not a surprise to me that they would need a bailout, or get one because the billionaire elite really want a policy where they make all the money to succeed.
Remember, socialist countries get sanctions and capitalist countries get bailouts, and we are supposed to believe that socialism fails.
A bulk of that money went back to US investors in Argentina who were over extended and not the Argentinian people. But either way it is the Argentinian people who’ll have to pay it back.
