This is likely the worst thing trump could’ve said tonight. All it does is position this successful mission (which I strongly oppose btw) as just the US continuing arrogant imperialist actions against ‘the underdog.’
How do you think Venezuelas will take news that a foreign power will run your country?
Also, how will Trump do this? Is he committing to sending tens of thousands of soldiers to rule over what is basically an ungovernable favela? With which authority? Will congress vote for this? Why did Rubio approve this for Trump to say knowing it will galvanize anti-American sentiment?
