No country in the world will dare to fight the United States if it annexes Greenland, a senior Trump adviser has said.
Stephen Miller, Donald Trump’s deputy chief of staff and homeland security adviser, questioned Denmark’s right to govern the Arctic island because Washington was the “power of [Nato](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/nato)”.
Mr Miller said: “[Greenland](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/greenland) should be part of the US. By what right does Denmark assert control over Greenland? The US is the power of Nato.”
He told CNN: “What is the basis of their territorial claim? What is their basis of having Greenland as a colony of Denmark?”
Donald Tusk, the Polish prime minister, echoed Ms Frederiksen’s warnings on Tuesday while pledging that Denmark can count on the solidarity of all of Europe.
“No member should attack or threaten another member of the North Atlantic Treaty. Otherwise, Nato would lose its meaning if conflict or mutual conflicts occurred within the alliance,” Mr Tusk said.
The US president has argued that Greenland, which is rich in rare earth minerals, is needed for [national security](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/national-security) reasons when Russia and China are boosting their influence in the strategic Arctic region.

Dude, Denmark is the size of Rhode Island, and contributes the equivalent of a single mom’s grocery money to NATO.
