Benny Sagi, a judge who presided over the initial corruption case against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, was killed in a traffic accident when his motorcycle was struck by a vehicle on Route 6 in Israel on January 5 or 6, 2026. The incident occurred near the Kfar Menachem kibbutz.

According to police and emergency services, a vehicle driving off-road entered the highway and collided with Sagi’s motorcycle. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene due to multiple injuries.

It is important to note the following:

The ongoing trial: The current ongoing corruption trial against Netanyahu in the Jerusalem District Court is presided over by a panel of three different judges: Rivka Friedman-Feldman, Moshe Bar-Am, and Oded Shaham.

Suspicion: Some sources have described the incident as “suspicious” due to the nature of the case he was involved in. Police have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the crash.

Other legal issues: Netanyahu also faces an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued in November 2024 for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
