  1. Honestly it wouldnt surprise me if more than half of their security forces were infiltrated by CIA informants/bribes. People underestimate how crazy our intelligence agencies are. I’d put money we have some form of insider in Pyongyang.

Meanwhile, the radical left, which dominates academia and much of the media ecosystem, is still screaming as if it is the same as any other LatAm coups in history. Many folks would predictably be duped into seeing it this way.

Seeing the reactions from our fellow “progressives” would hardly not make one worried about how potential transition to Venezuela’s opposition would be remembered by the public.

The radical left managed to sabotage Juan Guaidó’s brave effort with aggressive online propaganda campaigns in 2019, causing his ultimate loss of international recognition and end up in exile in the States. The capability of this small minority of extremists cannot be underestimated, meaning that it would take Trump’s administration a lot of effort to ensure the legitimacy of any Venezuelan opposition members who may take over.

  3. It’s pretty obvious that many things were going on behind the scenes that we may not know about for years.

One interesting rumor is that the VP was involved and sold Maduro out, which may explain why she is still in power.
