For a smaller country a European army is obviously better than a national army. What would be interesting is if younger people were more willing to be recruited by an EU army than a national army, which this doesn’t tell us and which is far more important.

Hopefully a European army would have the effect of dragging up the military quality of the weaker countries rather than dragging down the military quality of the stronger countries.
