During his traditional New Year address addressed at his top diplomats, Emmanuel Macron warned that the United States was “breaking free from international rules” and turning away from allies. “Multilateral institutions are functioning less and less effectively”, he added. Macron concludes that “We are living in a world of great powers with a real temptation to divide up the world”.
It wasn’t that gradual. Trump was talking about taking Canada before he even got sworn in.
It’s going to be an interesting year, to say the least. I have no idea what’s gonna happen.
